Silvia Chiusano
PhD, Associate Professor (Information Processing Systems), works in the area of database systems and machine learning. Her research interests focus on the design of innovative solutions for large-scale data management and mining with interest on health care, smart and cities and healthy cities application domains. She is tenured professor of courses on database systems, database systems technology, data warehousing and data mining in BSc and MSc degrees at the Politecnico di Torino. She was co-chair of the workshop track at the Int. Conference ADBIS 2018. She was co-founder of the DARLI-AP workshop on data analytics and co-chair in all workshop editions from 2017 to 2020. She is member of the Editorial Board of “Computing” Journal (Springer) and “Internet of Things – Engineering Cyber Physical Human Systems” Journal (Elsevier), and Guest Co-Editor of three Special Issues on journals “Information Systems Frontiers” (Springer), “Computing” (Springer), and “Electronics” (MDPI). She is currently elected member of the Academic Senate at Politecnico di Torino as a representative of Associate Professors. At the DIST department she is member of the working group for the definition of the new MSc degree programme proposed by DIST on “Digital Skills for Sustainable Societal Transitions” (Class LM-91).
