Giulia Mezzalama is an assistant professor in The Interuniversity Department of Regional & Urban Studies and Planning at the Politecnico di Torino (Italy), where she received her PhD in History and Critics of Cultural Natural Heritage Program. Her research interests include the role of cultural heritage in social innovation processes, urban and architectural history, and digital humanities. She is founder and director of MinD Mad in Design, an Italian cultural association promoting social innovation projects for mental health. Currently, she is involved in the management of heritage-related international research projects and she coordinates national research-action projects on collaborative and inclusive practices for fragile communities. She collaborates with the Cultural Welfare Centre, interdisciplinary center on expertise on Culture and Health.
