Francesca Taormina
Is currently a PhD candidate in “Urban and Regional Development” (XXXIV cycle) at DIST (Politecnico di Torino and University of Turin). Her investigation focuses on World Heritage sites of religious interest and the topic of participatory governance, and it is supervised by Prof. Sara Bonini Baraldi and supported by Prof. Andrea Longhi. Previously she held a MS degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage (qualified according to the Italian National law 42/2004) and a postgraduate master in World Heritage and Cultural Projects for Development, organised by the International Training Centre of the ILO (ITC-ILO) in Turin. She matured almost six years of professional experience both as cultural heritage conservator and project developer in Italy and abroad. Since 2014 she has collaborated in some cooperation projects for heritage conservation and training, at the archaeological park of Angkor Wat in Cambodia.
